Opinion: Gov Abiodun, where are the 236 health centres and schools as 100 days draw closer?

Your Excellency, 

I wish to drop this note just to remind you of some of your promises in respect to your first 100 days in office as the governor of Ogun State. 

Sir, few days before and after your inauguration, you made some promises; you told the people of Ogun State that some projects would be commissioned to mark your first 100 days in office. 

As reported by journalists and your 'social media ranters', you promised to commission 236 primary health centres in each of the 236 wards in Ogun; you also promised to commission 236 public schools in each of the 236 wards in the state. 

Mr Governor, I can also remember that you promised to commission 60 rural roads across the state; that is three roads in each of the 20 local governments in Ogun. 

Governor, I have gone round the three senatorial districts in Ogun State, but I have not seen any work going on. I think 74 days have gone already.

My question is, when will work commence on these projects so as to get them commissioned on September 5 when you will clock 100 days in office?

I wouldn't know if it is possible, in this era of technology, that the roads are being manufactured somewhere else, just to have them laid or spread where necessary like astro turf or carpet, a day before they are to be commissioned. 

I also wouldn't know if the health centres and blocks of classrooms are being built through 'modern precast method', just to be installed across the state on the eve of your first 100 days in office. 

Before your cyber dogs start ranting and before they start saying it is too early to criticize your administration, I want to remind you that this is not a kind of criticism; rather, a reminder. 

Sir, these are your first promises to the people of Ogun State and there is nothing bad, if I, as a true indigene of Ogun State, remind you. I'm only being of help. I understand you have a lot in your head.

Prince, it is good if you fulfill your first promises to the good people of Ogun State, so that they will know you are a man of your words. First impression, they say, lasts longer.

It is seen that you have started some palliative measures on roads in the Ogun East axis. It is good, but that is not the three rural roads per local government I'm talking about.

Our dear Governor, please remember that you don't have the luxury of time. Make hay while the sun shines, so that Ogun people will not get too tired. They are getting tired already. 

This reminds me of an old nursery rhyme: 'Tick says the clock, tick tick, what you have to do, do quick'!
