Jubilations as Olaniyan emerges new Onipokia
There was wild jubilation in Ipokia, Ipokia Local Government of of Ogun State as Prince Yisa Adeniyi Olaniyan was unanimously elected on Wednesday as the new Onipokia of Ipokia land.
Olaniyan defeated other seven candidates as all the kingmakers in Ipokia voted for him to become the next monarch of the ancient town.
Announcing the result of the election held within the premises of Ipokia Local Government Secretariat in Ipokia, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Apari said "Yisa Adeniyi Adelakun Olaniyan got the votes of all the five kingmakers to become the next Onipokia."
Prince Yisa Adeniyi Olaniyan was born on September 5 1970 to the family of Late Prince Hamzat Akanbi and Madam Muyibat Olaniyan at Ilashe Compound of Ipokia. He had his elementary education at United African Methodist Church Primary School and his secondary education at Community Secondary School, all in Ipokia.
In 1988, he moved from Ipokia to live with his uncle in Lagos and while awaiting admission into a higher institution, he got a job with Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Ikeja as a flight dispatch officer from 1989, where he was attached to Lufthansa German Airlines ground operations department.
In his quest for higher education, he got admitted into Lagos State Polytechnic Isolo in 1995. He had barely started his first semester when he played and won the US visa lottery. He then relocated to United States in 1996.
While in the United States, he attended The University of Houston, Downtown and obtained Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. He also got various certifications in Quality Assurance with over 15 years experience in Quality Control, a field he chose to work while attending school and continued to develop in, even after school. Currently working on his master's degree program.
Olaniyan is Employed with an oil & gas company called Emerson Process Management as a Quality Control Inspector in Houston Texas. He is also the CEO of Afro-Heritage Entertainment Company and the President/Chairman of the reputable AHBEAwards also in Houston Texas, USA.
His passion for entertainment led him into starting an entertainment company about 12 years ago, and then moved on to creating an annual Awards event in 2015 named Afro-Heritage Broadcasting & Entertainment Awards ‘AHBEA’ with the help & initiatives of some notable individuals in the Nigeria entertainment industry.
Olaniyan is a two-time National Public Relations Officer for Yewa Descendant Union, North America (YDUNA).
He is also the Executive Director and part-owner of a renewable energy company called NSB Worldwide Incorporated, operating both In Houston and Ilorin, Kwara State.
Olaniyan is married to Folasade Olaniyan, with two boys, Olusola Adeyola Olaniyan and Robert Ayobami Adewale Olaniyan.
